Return Policy

Wholesale Return Policy – Colorado Compliance

At Clear Water Distilling, we operate under Colorado Liquor Enforcement Division rules. Because alcohol is a controlled product, we cannot accept returns except under specific conditions allowed by law.

Returns Are Allowed Only For:

  • Defective or Damaged Products
    If product arrives broken, leaking, spoiled, or otherwise defective.

  • Order or Delivery Errors
    If the wrong product, size, or quantity was shipped.

  • Discontinued or Manufacturer Changes
    If the supplier discontinues the item or changes packaging/labeling.

  • Unsaleable Due to Freshness/Quality
    For items such as malt beverages or other perishable alcohol that no longer meet freshness standards.

  • Special Event Permits
    Unsold alcohol from a licensed special event may be returned as permitted under Colorado law.

Returns Not Accepted:

  • Overstocks or slow-moving inventory

  • Buyer’s remorse or change of mind

  • Seasonal products after the event/season has ended

Process for Authorized Returns

  1. Contact Us Within 7 Days of delivery to request a return authorization.

  2. Provide invoice number, product details, and reason for return.

  3. Once approved, products must be returned in original, unopened cases (unless defective).

  4. Credits or replacements will be issued once the return is received and inspected.

Important Notes

  • Proof of purchase (invoice) is required for all returns.

  • No cash refunds will be issued; approved returns are credited to the customer’s account.

  • All returns must comply with Colorado Liquor Code (1 CCR 203-2) and are subject to final approval.
